As a teacher librarian, I believe that my role is more than a custodian of the school’s digital and print resources. I firmly believe that the values of those resources can only be realized when students know how to learn, know how to access, use, analyze, evaluate and synthesize information. For a school, having an excellently resourced library only becomes an asset when students consider the library resources an extension of their classroom work, when information fluency is integrated into all aspects of the curriculum, and when reading is linked to pleasure, to emotional and mental growth and to personal inquiry.

One of the vehicles that I use to share resources, and integrate my work with that of the classroom teacher and the demands of the curriculum is through LibGuides. which I began developing when I worked at Chadwick International in South Korea, and have continued at teh International School of London in Qatar.

Formerly when I was working at Qatar Academy, I used Library wiki spaces. Please note that I no longer maintain the Qatar Academy wikispace, linked below, but to my knowledge few changes have been made to it since I left the school.
